Hello everyone,

a recipe for Algerian cake to bite into, we call it donuts, but in fact it’s a crunchy-soft mixture. This cake is a real delight, they are also called window of paradise, or chebbak el jenna.

This cake is easy to prepare, but it takes passion when baking. to make one donut after another, to take your time so that the dough sticks to the iron, and does not fall, hihihih

If you’re impatient, or you have too many people hanging around you, don’t do it, lol… Anyway, I tell you one thing, if like me, you live in a place where there is no the zlabiya, this recipe will go well with your tea on Ramadan evenings.

Preparation time 10 min

Cooking time 30 min

Total time 40 min

  • 180 g plain flour
  • 10 g cornflour
  • 2 eggs
  • 180 ml of milk
  • 1 vs a tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 vs vanilla coffee
  • 1 pinch of salt optional
  • Beat the eggs well,

  • add the cornstarch and continue to beat,

  • then add the sugar, vanilla, milk and pinch of salt

  • while whisking, add the flour in small quantities, until you have a dough that is neither too runny nor too thick
    preferably, do a cooking test, if the dough is good, continue, if it is too liquid, add a little flour.

  • put some oil in a small frying pan,

  • put your mold in it to heat it well

  • take the mold and put it directly in the preparation to cover the edges with the dough, it must not cover the top, leave in the dough, do not remove immediately, so that it does not fall.

  • put the mold back in the oil, the donut will fall down on its own.

  • let the donuts brown on both sides.

  • at the end of cooking, dip your cakes in preheated honey to which you have added a little orange blossom.
