I have always loved Moroccan tajines and this kofta tagine with eggs is my favorite dish, not only is this dish so good, it is also an easy and quick recipe to make that, in not even 30 minutes, you can already taste this tagine with a good Moroccan bread.

Generally, if my husband buys ground meat, I know he’s going to ask me for one of these three recipes: kofta taginemtewem or chili con carne.

This kofta tagine recipe I always offer it in my easy and quick recipe board, and it’s always the meal idea that I suggest around me when someone asks me for an idea for dinner!

During Ramadan, this Moroccan kefta tagineis often repeated on the Iftar table, and since the days of Ramadan are long and difficult, I prepare in advance, a few days before Ramadan, I buy a large quantity of minced meat, I prepare the kefta dumplings , and I put in bags in the freezer, an incredible time saver, moreover after the recipe for this dish becomes just child’s play.

To confess one thing, as I don’t have a gas cooker, and because every time I buy an earthen tagine and it breaks after 2 or 3 recipes on my electric hob, now I prepare my tajine of Kefta in a wide skillet is deep, and for presentation I put it in a ceramic tagine which is not ideal for cooking, and voila!

To tell you one thing, with us this dish of kofta is not a dish that we eat with a spoon at home. Always accompanied, either by matlouh or baguette bread, sauce your piece of bread in this creamy tomato sauce with Moroccan minced meatballs is a pure delicacy, and this dish becomes even tastier when eaten in this way.

So I prepare my tagine with a creamy and well-reduced sauce, to easily dip your bread in it, and even the minced meatballs, I made them very small to eat them more easily.

For some kofta dumplings very melting in the mouth, add 1 tablespoon of breadcrumbs in the stuffing, the meatballs will be super succulent and tender to infinity.

  • 200 gr minced meat
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • 1 mashed garlic cloves
  • a few sprigs of chopped parsley.

  • salt and black pepper
  • 2 has 3 eggs
  • 2 3 fresh tomatoes or a can of chopped tomatoes.
  • 2 3 tablespoons table oil
  • in a container, mix the minced meat, crushed garlic, chopped parsley, salt and black pepper to prepare meatballs. To book.
  • in a skillet, or if you are using a Moroccan tagine, brown the grated onion and the garlic clove in a little oil.
  • Add the tomatoes cut into small cubes, add salt, black pepper and a little cumin
  • Add the chopped parsley and simmer for fifteen minutes.
  • Stir in the kofta balls.
  • when the meatballs are cooked, break the eggs on them, sprinkle with a touch of salt.

Save this recipe from egg kefta tagine under your elbow, and don’t forget to always have a few well-seasoned minced meatballs in the freezer, because when you’re tired from a long day at work, or you’re too lazy to cook, this easy recipe tagine will make you happy.
