sautéed green beans with garlic and parsley

Hello everyone,

And sautéed green beans with garlic and parsley are the perfect recipe for an easy and quick evening meal, a perfect side vegetable whether it’s to accompany a piece of roast chicken, roast leg, fish with oven, or grills. The most important thing is an extremely quick recipe to make, especially with fresh beans, it doesn’t take more than 20 minutes and the dish is ready.

This recipe forsautéed green beans with garlic and parsley marked my childhood a lot, because when we were little, that’s the only way we ate green beans. My mother had tried all the ways to cook green beans, but we had barely taken a bite.

All this seems strange to me now, because frankly I eat green beans in all sauces! Why were we so demanding when we were little??? Poor mum, we made her see colors at the time and yet she is a very good cook.

With my children on the other hand, and I touch wood, I have no problem with vegetables, my concern and rather with meats, even when it comes to roast chicken, or roast chicken thighs with mustard, well my children rather prefer the sautéed chicken breast cutlets, or the chicken strips with mustard???

How to make the best sautéed green beans with garlic?

– In a fairly large saucepan, bring 5 cups of water over medium-high heat with a generous tablespoon of salt.

– Add the green beans to the boiling water and cook for 4 to 6 minutes until tender. Drain and reserve.

– In a large skillet, heat the butter over medium-high heat for 2 minutes until it melts and sizzles.

– Add the grated garlic and sauté for 2 minutes until the garlic is golden and fragrant, do not burn!

– Add the cooked green beans and sauté another 2-3 minutes. Toss well to coat the green beans with the buttery garlic sauce.

– Add the chopped parsley, salt to taste and pepper. Mix well, sauté another 1 minute and remove from heat. Taste immediately.

How else to season green beans?

– If you don’t like garlic, these sautéed green beans are always excellent without, just with black pepper and a touch of salt

– Onion is another good seasoning. You can use 1 teaspoon of onion powder in this recipe, or alternatively use ¼ cup fresh onions, diced and sautéed with the green beans until translucent.

– Fresh herbs add another delicious flavor. Try using fresh herbs like parsley, basil or oregano, personally I like with parsley.

– Lemon juice and garlic are a good combination.

– try for more crunch to add slivered almonds lightly toasted or sautéed in butter.

– the fresh grated parmesan cheese will give another dimension to these sautéed green beans.
